  • July: Hawaii Kai XTreme Ultra Run
  • December: Hawaii Kai Ultra Run at Kalama Valley (Dec. 19/20)
  • TBA: Hawaii Kai Ultra Run (race)

In 2013 we had two events in Kalama Valley ~ July & December. And, in 2014 one event in Kalama Valley on Dec. 20/21. In the future, we plan to change the XTreme course to include Heartbreak Hill and all of Hawaii Kai, and add a third event that will be a competitive RACE around Hawaii Kai Towne. However, that is likely a couple years away from becoming a reality.

Gerry Lindgren stops by HKUR to motivate the runners.

Takes place in Hawaii Kai near Koko Head/Hamauma Bay/Sandy Beach. A start/finish/aid station canopy tent will be set up on in Kalama Valley Neighborhood Park on Kealahou Street. Ice, drinks, and snacks will be provided. It is essentially in the middle of the course with an out and back towards the back of the valley, and another out and back towards the ocean, so there will be plenty of contact and support from other participants. Route stays entirely on Kealahou Street. Each full loop is 3.34 miles (3 loops is 10 miles). Course and aid station will remain open overnight and will not close until the last person finishes on Sunday night.

Certificates and custom awards to all registered finishers. Custom awards mailed afterwards.

Random gift giveaways to all participants and volunteers from our generous sponsors.

* Optional, early start time available at 3am. or any time thereafter. Simply show up and check in at the start tent. We will record your individual start time. (Note: In the past, most runners have started between 3 and 6am on Sat. morning) Other options include any time on Saturday afternoon/evening or even Sunday morning.

** Note: This event is a 50 States Marathon Club, and 50 States Half Marathon Club qualifier and will count towards your totals. If combined with the Honolulu Marathon, you will qualify for the Marathon Maniacs or Half Fanatics.  **
